Close your eyes. If I say the words, “Mountain Man” to you, what image comes to mind? It’s probably the image of a grizzled man with a big thick beard and probably a flannel shirt. Maybe carrying an ax. But you know what, the Pocono Mountains challenge that very notion.
Mountain men aren’t the mountain men you’d expect. In fact, sometimes they’re not even men at all. People love visiting so much, they all become mountain men. The juxtaposition between the phrase and the image of the person saying it created some compelling work.
